Security Guard

Location: Hinsdale, IL
Compensation: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour DOE

The Role:

On-Site Security is seeking a professional Security Guard - Unarmed to support licensed cannabis facilities in Illinois. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, customers, employees, and assets. The Security Guard is responsible for monitoring facility activity, enforcing company and state security protocols, and providing excellent customer service while maintaining a professional presence.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine patrols to deter theft, monitor behavior, and report suspicious activity.
• Control access to secure areas, ensuring only authorized individuals are permitted entry.
• Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, or emergencies, including basic first aid if needed.
• Enforce security policies and procedures in alignment with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)–approved security plan.
• Monitor surveillance systems to ensure proper coverage and functionality, reporting issues immediately.
• Complete detailed incident reports, security logs, and shift summaries.
• Assist with ID verification, line management, and crowd control during high-traffic periods.
• Coordinate with management and local authorities when necessary.
• Support incident reporting requirements with IDFPR and law enforcement.
  
   

Qualifications

• 1+ year of professional security experience preferred.
• Strong observational skills and sound decision-making under pressure.
• Excellent interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
• Must be comfortable enforcing policies consistently and respectfully.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain an Illinois Dispensing Organization Agent ID card.
• Valid state-issued identification.
• High school diploma or GED required; formal security training or certifications a plus.
  
   

Working Conditions

• Ability to stand, walk, and remain alert for long periods.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to work varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Willingness to travel between nearby Illinois locations as needed.
• Comfort working in environments with high customer traffic, both indoors and outdoors.
