The Role

At Hays Electrical Services, events aren’t just dates on a calendar — they’re moments that matter. They shape culture, build community, and celebrate our people. We’re looking for an experienced, high-level Event Coordinator who thrives on organization, creativity, and intentional planning.

This is not an entry-level role. Our ideal candidate has years of proven experience managing large-scale, professional events with confidence and excellence. They bring the resourcefulness and leadership to handle the complexity of a company with 800+ employees, including 200+ in our Houston office.

Based in Houston, this role is the heartbeat behind our event calendar — ensuring everything we host runs with creativity, consistency, and impact. From monthly office breakfasts to large-scale traditions like our AGC Cook-Off, annual Christmas Party, Christmas Festival for our field teams, and Easter Palooza, this role blends event planning, community partnerships, and team leadership to create experiences that spark joy, build loyalty, and strengthen our culture.

Events & Experiences

You’ll be the owner of our master event calendar and bring it to life through thoughtful planning and intentional execution.

• Own and manage the full event calendar from start to finish.
• Plan and host internal and external events that build culture and strengthen community.
• Secure venues, catering, rentals, vendors, and sponsorships.
• Oversee event communications, priorities, and timelines to keep everything on track.
• Partner with marketing to ensure every event is promoted and covered effectively.
• Submit requests to the creative team for graphics, signage, and digital campaigns.
• Lead cross-team coordination so events are seamless, intentional, and on-brand.
• Track results to measure success and capture learnings to refine each season.
• Manage the on-site experience — setup, registration, hospitality, and execution.

Culture & Leadership

This role is about more than logistics — it’s about presence, hospitality, and leadership.

• Lead event staff, volunteers, and office teams during event execution.
• Create detailed event checklists, schedules, and run-of-show guides.
• Teach and guide teams to deliver standout hospitality and customer care.
• Foster camaraderie, morale, and connection across our large and growing workforce.
• Bring creativity and intentionality to every experience so that events feel meaningful, not routine.

Skills & Requirements

• 5+ years of proven experience in event coordination, hospitality, or corporate event management.
• Strong organizational and project management skills; able to manage multiple priorities with precision.
• Clear, confident communicator with warmth and clarity.
• Experienced in vendor management, contract negotiation, and budget oversight.
• Comfortable working with marketing tools, social media, and event promotion.
• People-first mindset with proven leadership in hospitality or customer-facing roles.
• Flexible and resourceful — quick to problem-solve when things don’t go as planned.
• Positive, enthusiastic, and dependable; thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Established connections or familiarity with Houston’s local event network a plus.
