Job Description

Execute network grooming operations transitioning services from the Coriant 7100 platform to the Ciena NGO platform, followed by the systematic recovery of critical optical and card components from the decommissioned Coriant equipment.

Main Responsibilities
• Systematically decommission Coriant 7100 network elements following successful migration to the Ciena NGO platform.
• Identify and harvest high-value optical modules and card components from retired Coriant equipment for reuse or inventory optimization.
• Maintain detailed records of grooming activities, asset recovery, and platform changes to support audit and operational planning.
• Work closely with engineering, field operations, and asset management teams to coordinate migration timelines and resource deployment.
• Requires limited direction and guidance for completion of tasks.

What We Look for in a Candidate Required:
• Associate degree or equivalent education and relevant experience.
• 3-5 years related experience in telecommunications, engineering, network planning or equivalent.
• Proven track record in network grooming, decommissioning, and optical component handling.
• Solid understanding of DWDM, SONET/SDH, and Ethernet transport technologies.
• Strong data, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Detail oriented with an intense focus on quality.
• Exceptional organizational, prioritization, communication and time management skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Leverage knowledge and skills to lead and deliver major projects within the deadline.
• Identifies process gaps and makes recommendations for improvement to peers/team Leader.
• Understand the interdependence of platforms/other departments and how they impact each other
• Contribute to planning efforts by identifying unused capacity, underutilized assets, and opportunities for streamlining.
• Investigate and resolve grooming-related faults or anomalies in real time to support uninterrupted network performance.
• Produce communications that are clear, concise, on point with clear definition of problem statement, requirements, recommendations
